STREATLEY PLACE DEVELOPER WILL CAUSE CHAOS

Cllr Stephen Stark received details from Camden Council that they are proposing to allow the developer of 6 Streatley Place to use Back Lane as their access route to 6 Streatley Place.

If that wasn’t bad enough Camden Council also want to give the developer access from New End as well. That means the developers’ work will block Back Lane and also their construction traffic will be allowed to use New End.

Construction will pass directly in front of the school, the nursery and houses on Streatley Place. Cllr Stark has been highlighting the difficulties with this site ever since it came to the Camden planning committee. Cllr Stark met Camden Director, their head of planning and construction management manager on site and walked the area with them and highlighted the difficulties and the affect the developers work will have on the area. Unfortunately it all fell on deaf ears.

Cllr Stephen Stark as a chartered Civil Engineer and your ward councillor considers that Camden’s proposal, if allowed, will be disastrous for everyone on:- Back Lane; Flask Walk; New End; Streatley Place; New End School; New End Nursery; and for the delivery bay at the top of Back Lane (which will seriously effect businesses).

Cllr Stark says Camden Council are making this decision without any thought or analysis. At this time not enough information has been provided. Cllr Stark has asked Camden Council to engage an independent transportation engineer to access the proposal in detail. What is being proposed is likely to cause chaos for a significant amount of time. This has been a running battle since 2018. The Ham and High reported it here

Please contact Stephen to let him know your thoughts. Only together can be fight this proposal!
