Former Secretary of State for International Development

Priti Patel served in government for three years; as Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, Minister of State for Employment and most recently Secretary of State for International Development. Under her leadership at DfID Britain committed to a £1.1bn fund to help combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis globally. As well as this, she helped safeguard the pledge of 0.7% of gross national income on aid. 

Priti has taken on campaigns to tackle youth unemployment and her interests include business and foreign affairs. She has been a keen follower of Middle East politics and serves as a patron at Conservative Friends of Israel.
