Born and bred in Eton Avenue in the heart of Belsize, and later moving to Primrose Hill just a few minutes down the road I come from a politically active family. At one point my father, Barry Bucknell the pioneer of DIY, was a Labour Councillor on Holborn and St Pancras Council while at the same time my Grandfather, Arthur Bucknell, was a Conservative Councillor on Hampstead Borough Council.

I am married to Alison, a nurse and senior lecturer at Middlesex University, with whom I have a son, Tristen. I also have a daughter, Kirsty, by a previous marriage.

For many years I worked for my family’s property rental company. This provided me with valuable experience in the building industry, which has allowed me to assist numerous people with housing matters. I continue to run a small rental business in the area.

I was a Belsize Ward Councillor for six years. I represented you on Camden Council from 2002 to 2006. And in May of 2010 I was re-elected as a Belsize Councillor.

I sit on various police committees and have a passion for transport issues. I am thoroughly enjoying serving you all as Belsize’s Councillor.
